Materially Poor, Spiritually Rich

Today, Hazel, Wilson and Estela will share a bit of what we have experienced over the last two days, visiting the childcare centres in Libas and Nipa.
We have been inspired by James 2:5 “Listen, my dear brothers and sisters: Has not God chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world to be rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom he promised those who love him?”

Yesterday, we had the privilege of visiting a small village called Libas. We were greeted with so many small precious smiles that were filled with joy and excitement. The children prepared a short song about their love for Jesus that blessed us all. Celeste (24 yrs old) , a young servant of the Lord, is the pastor of the Libas Child Care Learning Center. Celeste is simply an inspiration! We will never forget her energy, devotion, comittment and love for the Lord and His work.
We also had the privilege of meeting Pastor Jerry, who also works closely with KPM. We also had the opportunity to engage in valuable sharing time with the local leaders and the parents  of the children on the impact having a church community has had on each of our lives. Overall, we are overwhelmed by the hospitality and the love that the people of Libas have for the Lord. - Hazel

I was humbled to share some time this afternoon with the passionate leaders at Nipa Baptist church. Pastor Delgado (86 years old!!!!), Pastor Joel and Ricardo showed us amazing hospitality, and missed a day of working and earning as fishermen, to spend time with us. The children’s teacher at the Nipa Childcare Learning Centre, Elaine Joy, was encouraging and inspiring to all of us. - Wilson

As Christians, our hope in God's promises to renew this world should propel us forward to act as agents of change: feeding the hungry, clothing the poor, and caring for those in need.

Yet in the midst of living in a broken world – there’s hope! Experiencing brokenness all around us and enriched by hope in God. And this hope is found in none other than Jesus Christ! He is the only hope for our world. He is our only peace! And God has called those of us who have experienced His peace to be peacemakers by sharing His love and grace w/ others. - Estela
